Cadillac Rethinks US Diesel

Cadillac might bring diesel power back to the United States in future vehicles. Diesel is a very popular fuel overseas, but it hasn't been a staple at gas stations since unleaded fuels were produced during the 1970's. Although it costs a little more at the pump, diesel tends to burn slower, giving the driver greater miles per gallon.
Cadillac is not only doing this for car shoppers at Capitol Chevrolet Cadillac in Capitol Chevrolet Cadillac, OR. The makers of Cadillac CTS are battling European competition.
Cadillac's VP of marketing, Don Butler, explained that, "(Diesel) could be a potential hedge in the U.S. because of diesel's great torque, great performance with great efficiency. We absolutely mean it when we say we aim to compete with the best of the best without compromises."1
This also marks a great time for Cadillac to re-introduce diesel in United States and Canadian vehicles. Expect a diesel powered Caddy by 2014 at the latest.
