Chevrolet Ignites Greater Interest in EVs with New Spark Mini Car

All year, Chevrolet has been hosting an ongoing dialogue about the environmental and financial benefits of electric vehicles. Needless to say, it's sparked a lot of attention. Especially the Volt plug-in hybrid and the many powers it promises to wield (i.e., reduced CO2 emissions, limited trips to the gas station, and long-term savings). That said. Chevrolet isn't so hot in the head to think they're work in the EV arena is done. Rather, to ensure drivers' burning interest doesn't fade to embers, the American automaker is throwing yet another log on the fire.

However, Capitol Chevrolet Cadillac, located at 2711 Mission St. SE, Salem, OR, expects limited quantities of the new EV to arrive in the U.S., as soon as 2013.

Like many EVs in the works, the Chevy Spark is being designed to transform the future of city driving. Unlike many EVs on the market, there is nothing hum-drum about out. In a few short words, the Chevrolet Spark offers extraordinary fun, function, and a distinct fashion edge.

Speaking on the decision to take the Spark to production, Jim Federico, Global Vehicle Chief Engineer for EVs, Chevrolet says, "Our global demo fleets continue to provide insight into the needs of electric vehicle customers living in urban environments. The Spark EV is another step in Chevrolet's plan to provide customers with a variety of electrification solutions to address the lifestyle and transportation needs of people around the world."1
