It may not have stopped the presses at the Detroit Auto Show, but news of Cadillac's plan to cap every model in its lineup with either a supped up V-spec version or white-glove Platinum edition is huge. To kick off the plan in style, Cadillac used the show to debut two such special editions: the 2011 CTS-V coupe and 2012 XTS flagship showcased as the XTS Platinum concept.

They waited for the dust from end-of-year rankings to settle, but it didn't take the editors at AutoWeek long to name the 2011 "Best of the Best/Car" award winner. The recipient was none other than the 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe.

AutoWeek ranks vehicles on a sliding scale of one to five, focusing heavily on drive train; ride quality; handling; exterior and interior design; and the infamous fun factor. To win the title of
