Be Prepared to Deal With Ice and Snow

When you drive in the winter, it is likely that you will get stuck at least once or twice. Since that is pretty much hard to avoid, you can prepare yourself to deal with that situation. All you need to do is pack bag of sand, salt, or litter. Make sure that the sand you bring is rock salt and not table salt.

Rock salt will actually help to melt ice as long as it's above 12 degrees Fahrenheit. Litter will also work, and you can find it pretty easily in most grocery stores. It can tend to get a bit messy though because of its clay content. Sand is a good option as well, but it may be harder to find. Just some regular play sand will work or any other variety of sand.
